Herricks Cove Wildlife Festival

The Herrick’s Cove Wildlife Festival connects thousands of residents and visitors with the natural beauty and ecological richness of the Great Falls region. Through guided walks, wildlife demonstrations, educational exhibits, and interactive outdoor activities, the event creates meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to explore local ecosystems and learn from conservation leaders.

Beginning in 2026, the Great Falls Regional Chamber of Commerce joins Ascutney Mountain Audubon Society, Great River Hydro, and Vermont Fish & Wildlife as co-organizers of this long-running celebration of environmental stewardship. Since 2000, the festival has attracted nature enthusiasts, families, educators, and outdoor recreation supporters from across Vermont and New Hampshire

New attractions—such as the Hoops Shooting Contest introduced in 2025—continue to expand the event while honoring the traditions that have made Old Home Days a community favorite for generations.

Slip into your favorite flannel and step into the heart of autumn at the Southern Vermont Flannel Festival, happening Saturday and Sunday, October 18–19, at Rockingham Hill Farm, 34 Meeting House Road, Rockingham VT.

Saturday, October 18th:  11 am - 5 pm
Sunday, October 19th:     11 am - 4 pm

This two-day celebration invites locals and visitors alike to slow down and savor the season in one of Vermont’s most breathtaking settings. Set against sweeping hilltop views, the festival offers live bluegrass and folk music, farm-fresh food and drink, artisan vendors, family activities, and all the cozy traditions that make fall in Vermont unforgettable.

Festival-goers can stretch out on a picnic blanket beneath open skies, enjoy music mingling with the rustle of autumn leaves, and sip local cider or craft brews. Everywhere you turn, the festival promises sights, sounds, and flavors stitched together like your favorite flannel shirt.

Southern Vermont Flannel Festival Bake Off

🥧✨ Think your pie has what it takes to be
the best in Southern Vermont?

Enter the 2025 Flannel Festival Bake Off and show off your baking skills! Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a rising young talent, this is your chance to win bragging rights—and amazing prizes donated by King Arthur Baking Company.

🍎 How it works:

  • Register with 2 handmade pies (crust included—no store-bought!)

  • One pie goes to judging, one supports the festival fundraiser

  • Drop off pies by 12:30 PM, Saturday, Oct. 18 at Rockingham Hill Farm

  • Judging begins at 1 PM (75% taste, 25% presentation)

  • Winners announced once votes are counted—no need to be present to win

  • All registrants get one free entry ticket to the festival!

🏆 Prizes:
Top 3 bakers (18+) and top 3 youth bakers (under 18) will take home King Arthur prizes and serious pie glory!

📅 Mark your calendar, dust off that rolling pin, and bring your best pie forward. Let’s make this the sweetest showdown of the season!

All pies must be accompanied with a card that mentions the registrants name, kind of pie, and list of any common food allergens included in the recipe. (i.e nuts, soy, gluten, peanut butter etc)
